A Republican would never share their toys, even if they had so many they had no time enough to play with them all. A Democrat would donate toys to others less fortunate.
“This is the BBC broadcasting on 1500 meters long wave. And now the news: Earlier today in continued fighting across the Mason- Dixie line, General Eugene Armitage reported Democrat forces had assailed a Republican stronghold just south of their line with great success, capturing Leader Rand Paul and placing him on the first train to Washington to stand trial for treason…
Henry Wallace was once a friend of Truman’s but had become radical, and in some quarters, was considered a Communist. Truman’s great fear was with the Democrat Party effectively splitting into three factions, one moderate, one right of center, and one left of center, the Republicans would have a cake walk. In fact one newspaper called for Dewey before all the results were in, so convinced were they Truman had lost. This is an important reason why Third Parties can be instrumental in the incumbent President losing the election. Truman won and was able to continue his plan of following New Deal principles laid down by former President Roosevelt.
James Madison had always maintained, however, that majority rule was against the principles laid down by the Founding Fathers. With majority rule, one party and then the other, may achieve an unassailable majority to enact controversial legislation. Madison believed people should stand for a time as representative of their community, and in turn elect senior law makers and governors who would quorum to enact legislation. Once these people had served, they returned to lives in the local community, thus making them reflect the interests of their constituents rather than some spurious political ideology compelled on them from above.
Frank Weller waited at the check point behind a line of similarly nervous people. The federal guard was checking papers carefully, while two others stood guns at the ready. Three women and a small child passed the barrier and walked on to the bus at the station. Two men were stopped. Angry words were exchanged and they were lead away by another federal guard behind a long concrete building. Two shots rang out but nobody said anything. Frank wished he had remembered his wallet that morning, but it was too late now.
Soon it was his turn. The guard demanded “papers” and waited for Frank to produce his identification papers. Frank made no move to show his “papers”. The federal guard waved over to the other two. “Take him away, have him shot.”
Frank followed the two federal guards to where the wall covered in blood stood. They hadn’t even bothered to move away the corpses of the two men shot less than five minutes ago.
Frank asked the federal guard for a cigarette. It seemed the right thing to do. As the guard offered him the pack of smokes, Frank began to sing, quietly at first, then louder. The guard lighted the cigarette but let Frank sang.
Frank sang louder and louder. The guards started to take aim, then stopped. One of them dropped his gun and fell to ground. Crying. The other holstered his gun and left the two of them behind him. Frank kept singing. He helped the guard to his feet, and the guard joined him in singing.
The song went on. More people appeared, they lined up behind Frank and the guard and began to move forward, singing. Their voices swelled louder and louder.
The marchers walked passed the bus, through the station, singing, singing louder and louder.
Finally they arrived outside the local commandant’s office. By now there was over a hundred of them, all singing. The commandant came outside, pulled his gun, and shot three people at random. Nobody stopped singing, so the commandant shot three more. Then the federal guard standing next to Frank, walked forward to the commandant. He took the pistol from the commandant’s hands. Everyone stopped singing. There was a long pause.
“No more killing,” the federal guard said. “No more killing people just because they cannot prove they’re American.”
“I have my orders, Captain. And you have yours. Anyone who cannot prove they are a citizen will be shot. It is the only way to stop the illegals from taking over this country. We must punish them with death,” the commandant said. “The only way.”
Frank walked towards the Captain and the commandant. As he did so, he removed his spectacles, and smoothed back his thinning silver hair. “Commander, ten years ago I was also your President. But then the war split our great nation. The Union of Southern States may believe State’s rights trump their citizen’s, but change is coming. Soon we will all sing as one Nation, one Great Republic, a democracy of Americans united in one common aim.”
The Captain came to attention and saluted Frank. “I didn’t recognize you, sir, without your beard.” He paused. ” And I was to shoot you as you had no papers.”
Frank smiled: “We all make mistakes. But starting right now, we can change. We do not have to kill anyone. If we are here, it is because we wish to be, and we aspire to become citizens of our adopted country.”
And they all began singing again, with the Captain and the commandant among the loudest.
And the change, the revolution spread across the USS and the song became an anthem.
What song do you think they sang?
This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day: At the encouragement of conservative “values promoting” organization Florida Family Association, the national home improvement chain Lowe’s has decided to pull their advertising from TLC’s groundbreaking reality show All-American Muslim.
In an email sent to Lowe’s and other advertisers, FFA refers to All-American Muslim — a show which follows the members of five families as they deal with the everyday difficulties of being Muslim in America — as “propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.”
According to the Association’s website, Lowe’s responded to the e-mail by saying that the show does not “meet Lowe’s advertising guidelines,” and therefore the company “will no longer be advertising on that program.”
Reached for comment by The Hollywood Reporter, a spokewoman for Lowe’s said concerns and complaints were raised “from multiple sides of the viewer spectrum” on various news sites and blogs. “We based our decision to pull the advertising on this research and after hearing the concerns we received through emails, calls, through social media and in news reports.”
TLC said that, despite Lowe’s withdrawal, advertising support for the show remains strong.
Outrage over the move continues to grow, however. One Twitter user likely spoke for many when he asked, “will you next consider KKKs demands to pull ads from BET?”
It’s worth noting that The Home Depot, the largest home improvement retailer in the US, is still supporting the show with its ads.

Boycott Lowe’s. Period.
The Florida Family Association is clearly another Koch Brothers funded fascist organization, that imposes censorship on freedom of speech. If they think it’s propaganda then they need to write their association members and ask them not to watch, but wait given their members are all reactionary fascist already, they wouldn’t be watching the show in the first place.
I feel sorry Lowes succumbed to this political pressure. They should have a backbone.
What next? Telling companies not to advertise on Bravo because of their positive non-gender-specific programming could corrupt the morals of their members? I bet they all eat at Chik Filet and grumble at the way the President is handling things…..?
Occupy Bedford Falls
Potter is the 1%— damn, this movie is downright radical these days. Does FOX know about this?
As true today as it ever was.
A fascist, a communist and a socialist all go into a bar. The fascist tells everyone what they can drink; the socialist gathers the money from all three and the communist takes the money and puts it all in a slot machine. The communist explains that he has a five minute plan to increase wealth, allowing them all to buy more drinks. The socialist then borrows money from a Chinese man sitting in the corner. The fascist reaches into his pocket and takes out a gun. He demands the socialist give him all the money just borrowed. The fascist then buys two cheeseburgers, a bottle of wine and a pack of smokes. The communist has now taken to hitting the slot machine with his fist in the hope it will spring more money. He joins the fascist and they split the wine, the cheeseburgers and the smokes. The socialist picks up a bar cue and clouts both the communist and the fascist about the head then leaves.
